Programming 11:

Today we need to revisit our look at CSS.

Please begin this tutorial on CSS formatting.

Pay careful attention to the CSS syntax on the second page. Understanding terms like "property" and "value" will play a crucial role as we move forward.

Also use this tutorial as an additional resource. Together they both cover the key aspects of CSS that we need to understand.

More advanced: Tutorial 3

Programming 12

Today we begin Python. We will be following a course from Code Academy.

Continuing with HTML & Greenfoot Bootcamp

Comments are an important part of your HTML code. They help other coders understand what your code is all about.

Please review the Comments section of the HTML unit and add comments to the body and head of your HTML page.

This won't take long. After you have added comments, please review the DIV tag section and try to add a few DIV tags to your page.

Programming 12

We are going to pause the game we were working on last week (feel free to keep working on it during your down time in class however)

We will be completing a 5 day bootcamp to build our very own 2D Platform game.

Each day will have 1 presentation visible on the Greenfoot Page and one outcome attached.

Feel free to work ahead if you are quick but everyone should be trying to finish one presentation and one goal per class.

HTML Overview

posted Apr 20, 2015, 8:54 PM by Jon Hamlin

From now on, we will be using this HTML Overview to keep track of our progress through the HTML units.

Each day we finish a section, I will put a green check mark beside it.

Today we begin to look at how to work with images.

Binary Audio & Video

posted Mar 22, 2015, 11:21 PM by Jon Hamlin

Today we look at how Binary Code is used to encode audio & video.

This will be the final section of our binary code unit.

Today we will continue to explore how Binary Clocks work and then see how images are represented via Binary code on our computers. Click the Binary link from the Programming heading on the left.

Binary Code

posted Mar 1, 2015, 7:44 PM by Jon Hamlin

Continuing with the theme of coding and decoding, today we begin to look at Binary Codes.

Binary code is still the basis for all computer systems in the world. Although, you don't need to understand Binary Code to operate a computer, it's important to understand just how simple it really is. It's amazing when you consider that anything digital can be coded into Binary Code for transmission. From simple text files, to HD Video, it can all boil down to simple 1's and 0's.

Let's learn more. Click the Binary Code link from our menu on the left.
